Iconography Summer School

Icon Writing Retreat:

                30th July – 3rd August 2012

                St. Mary the Virgin

                Aylesbury

Programme for the Week.

10 am till 4.30 pm every day.

At every stage a clear demonstration and explanation will be given. All sessions will begin with set prayers for the iconographer and a short prayer of thanksgiving at the end of each session. Work is generally carried out in silence except for during demos and if help is needed.

Mon 30th July-          Introduction and Prayers. Board preparation for gilding.
Tues 31st July  –       Gilding and first layers of tempera.                                                                                   Weds 1st Aug –          Building up image. Highlights and floats.
Thurs 2nd Aug –         Refining and detail.
Friday 3rd Aug –        Final details and lettering. Blessing.

Lunch each day is at 12.30pm and the church refectory provides a range of meals and sandwiches.  Booking form is enclosed with this flyer.

Cost £295.     A non refundable deposit of £50 is required.

All bookings need to be made by 1st June as the boards need to be made to order.

Late bookings may be taken if spare boards are available.
